I used to live in Alameda in the Bay Area, so I have visited this area often. It's beautiful up on Mount Diablo with some very great views. For being such a crowded region, they have quite a lot of open space and vast tracks of parks. It's a lot of fun to go hiking in all the differing habitats that they have.
Thanks for your nice comments. I hope you have some more wonderful vacations in 2009.

Wow! I love how the clouds look so wispy in this photo. Nice shot!

Lovely picture. Thanks for sharing.
There is a real feeling of last fortress of green before wide desert! Quite awesome!
What a magnificent tree. You captured it brilliantly!
Beautiful shot// Eva
I love the way you captured the shots. :) Really gorgeous one. I wonder why they call it Mt. Diablo.
Beautiful scenery, I love the warm autumn colours. I'd love to have a photo like that enlarged so I could hang it in the hallway =)
We almost went to Santorini instead of Kythira last June. It's still on our list of places to see. Do you have any recommendations? Must sees?
Beautiful photography.
Ummm makes me homesick for the landscape I love.
