Skywatch Friday

If you want to skywatch in Phoenix during the summer months,
you'd better look for some shade -
this sunny shot of the blue sky was taken
in 117 degree temps...
Phoenix, AZ

No question, 117 degrees is a lot nicer in a photo that in person, particularly with that bright blue sky...

I have to agree with YogaforCynics much nicer in a photo than in person! What we are recieving on Haida Gwaii is unheard of, our summer high is a moderate 20*C! Have a great weekend.

A beautiful shot!

Very nice. Here in the Pacific Northwest we've been experiencing record setting temps the past couple of days from 100-107 degrees. You make that seem lukewarm compared to your 117. WOW!

Lovely shot but I think I will avoid Arizona in summer.

Hi Linnea, agree with everyone else - makes for a great shot but think I prefer our cooler temperatures and even the rain to 117 degrees! The photo really describes Phoenix - a hot, arid, modern city.

Love the silvery shimmer on the palms, they just glow against the sky.

Yes, I agree with Arija - the palms look great against the sky. I wouldn't mind being there in the heat just for a day or two...

That's pretty and very hot. Hopefully it will cool down soon. We are starting with spring weather now.

Nice shot. I still don't understand why my parents moved to the Phoenix area years ago. Abandon hope, etc...

Too, too, too hot! But thanks for going outside to take a great shot.

117! I guess I'll be happy with the rain we're having. :)
Beautiful shot! I like the curve of the building behind the palms. Really nice composition.

Very nice photo, but I think the temperature is a little to warm. A shadow is a nice thing:)

Beautiful sky, but too hot for me!

Beautiful skies and lovely perspective. I have friends who live in Arizona and although the skies are lovely, the heat in the summer months wipes me out and the dryness in the winter is challenging too. I prefer when they visit ME at the beach ;--)
