Ruby Tuesday

On a recent hike, I spotted a lone ruby red poison oak leaf
resting in the dirt...

Oh, that's lovely, Linnea. Do you think the footprints beside it mean there is a mystery here?

OH! So that's what poison oak looks like. We have poison ivy here, which is also very pretty in autumn.

Love those shoe tracks. The place must be a beautiful hiking spot.

In all our hikes, we are always wary about poison oaks.

Never knew poison oak leaves turned red. Great shot, the footprints really add to the compostition.

Look at all the footprints. By passing the Poison Oak I hope. When we were kids it seemed someone always had the oozing rash. Once i rubbed the leaves on me hoping I would get it and not have to go to school. Oh I got it alright and of course still had to go to school--Calamine Lotion and all. MB

The boot tracks give silence evidence that someone's been near. Yet no one stoops to pick up the fallen leaf, to marvel at the vivid color....poison runs through the creased veins........ :)

I hope you don't mind.
Your lovely image inspired me.
Love the artistry of the shot!

That certainly is a beautiful leaf, but I try to stay as far away from them as possible. So I'm delighted you got this picture for me to enjoy.
