Here's one of the windows at Mission Carmel, est. in 1770.
The beautiful mission and grounds are a National Historic Landmark

Mission Carmel is a goldmine for windows and doors.

Hoped you had a fabulous Mother's Day.

the angle of the deep walls probably lets in a lot more light than one might imagine. beautiful stone work as well.

What a fine window - the look of the past! I like the arrangement here, the glass inset so the rain stays out or lets the light in while leaving the heat out too. Cool and classic!

I absolutely ADORE this charming window and the beautiful roses beneath it! I'm a total sucker for windows like this, and similar inviting doorways and enchanting gates. And though I've only been there once, I fell in love with Carmel (who wouldn't?) Such a charming place, how I'd love to return there with my camera!

Beautiful capture, Linnea!
