Sunday Bridges

Grave Creek Covered Bridge can be seen 

from Interstate 5 just a bit north of Grants Pass. 

It is one of the few remaining covered bridges in Oregon. 

It's a beauty, isn't it?

As I drove quietly through the pastoral landscape, 

I happened upon this charming barn. 

I just had to stop and photograph it -

When I drive up to the Pacific Northwest along Interstate 5, I pass many barns, but I rarely have the opportunity to take a freeway exit and track them down. 

This one I found when I got off to tank up. It's a simple barn surrounded by wheat fields and puffy white clouds...

Sunday Bridge Series

On my drive home from Washington,

I was determined to make a short pit stop in Cottage Grove

instead of just zooming by on Interstate 5.

Look at what I found - a picturesque covered bridge!

This one is called Centennial Bridge and is only for pedestrians.

It was built in 1987 from the recycled timber of a dismantled bridge.
